With fresh snow settling on the slopes and more on the way, Whistler is definitely turning into a Winter Wonderland, and is the perfect setting for all the holiday festivities coming down the pipe.
Dress Like Santa Day
December 14, 2013 marks Whistler Blackcomb’s annual “Dress Like Santa Day.” A free lift ticket will be awarded to the first 75 people to arrive in full Santa or Mrs. Claus attire at 8AM sharp at the GLC located at the base of Whistler Mountain. Regardless if you get a free lift ticket or not, you’ll want to be a part of this festive event, because the Christmas spirit will certainly be running high on the slopes.
Fire and Ice Show
If you’re coming to Whistler for the weekend, you’ll want to extend your stay until Monday, because you don’t want to miss the legendary Fire and Ice Show at Skiiers Plaza in Whistler Village. Starting Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 6:30PM, the Fire and Ice Show is a Whistler Winter Must Do, and it runs every Sunday until March 30, 2014.
There is something truly magical about watching fire spinners and hula-hoop dancers performing, while Whistler’s best skiers and riders jump and flip through a blazing ring of fire! And once the DJ and fireworks kick in, well you’ve got yourself and electrifying evening of free, live entertainment to watch with family and friends.
Skate with Santa
Santa is traditionally seen travelling in his sleigh pulled by nine reindeer, but in Whistler, Santa likes to strap on a pair of ice skates and zip around an outdoor rink. Only in Canada eh? On December 22, 2013 from 1PM to 4PM at the Whistler Olympic Plaza, join old St. Nick himself on the outdoor rink, where he will be handing out candy canes and will be available for photo opportunities. If you didn’t pack skates, rentals are available for $5.00.
The Whistler Holiday Experience
We all know the holidays can be expensive, so when good FREE fun is made available, it is important to gather up your family and friends and enjoy it! You can do precisely this at the Whistler Holiday Experience, which runs from December 20, 2013 to January 2, 2014 at the Whistler Conference Centre. This indoor family fun zone provides entertainment for kids and parents alike during the holiday season. How does mini putt, table games, bouncy castles, crafts and video games sound? Amazing, we know! And parents, you can relax in the lounge area and enjoy coffee or hot cocoa while the kids play.
We’d be more than happy to see you and your family over the holidays! So give our friendly and knowledgeable staff at Summit Lodge a call at Toll-free 1 (888) 913.8811.
