Shoulder Season Events Round-up
It is 2PM, the rain is teaming down outside, and Whistler Village is damp and quiet. It’s Shoulder Season, the big break between the two influxes of sports addicts. The rubber tire enthusiasts have completed their last ride, and now flee Whistler, leaving their tiny rentals and staff-housing encampments for the incoming flood of powderhounds.
Life in Whistler has completely slowed down, until the end of November when Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain re-open. In these months, locals and visitors take advantage of the relaxed Whistler vibes, and enjoy heaps of great events and activities.
Whistler Turkey Sale and Ski & Snow Board Swap
A pre-winter Whistler tradition, the Whistler Blackcomb Turkey Sale returns October 8-11, 2013. With over 20,000 square feet of ski and snowboard gear for sale at up to 70% off, the Turkey Sale marks the unofficial start to winter. Located in the Blackcomb Daylodge in the Upper Village, there is no better way to gear up for the upcoming ski season. Official opening day at Whistler Blackcomb is set for November 28, 2013.
