We’d like to express our deepest thanks to TA Global and Holborn Group for supporting us in our recent philanthropic endeavour. Thanks to them and a number of generous donors and volunteers, we were able to build a therapy building at the Phelisanong Children’s Centre in Lesotho, Africa.
The Phelisanong Centre provides schooling and housing for hundreds of children. The Centre provides support for a number of orphans, children with physical and mental disabilities, and children struggling with HIV and other chronic illnesses.
Previously, therapy for disabled children was given in the living quarters so every day the beds would have to be moved out of the way. Now, thanks to the proceeds from our recent fundraiser party and the hard work of our general manager Tony and other kindhearted volunteers from the Sea-to-Sky, the Centre has a dedicated space for therapy.
During their visit, Tony and the other volunteers were inspired by the children’s fun-loving spirit and the kindness of the workers and volunteers who care for them. Through dust storms and dance parties they worked away, making friends and memories to last a lifetime.
We’re privileged to live in communities where children have access to food, shelter, healthcare, education, friendship, and other necessities for a good life. Unfortunately, this still isn’t the reality for children everywhere. Initiatives like the Phelisanong Centre are the backbone of a world in which all children have the opportunity to thrive. It was an honour to offer our modest help to their noble cause.
Thank you Phelisanong Centre for your wonderful hospitality and all that you do! To those reading this, stay tuned for details on our next fundraising initiative. We’d love for you to be involved.
