World Ski and Snowboard Festival

Free Music Concerts 

The World Ski and Snowboard Festival kills it with beats all week long,brought to you by Bud Light Freeride Club Series, the Bud Light Après Series and the Silent Disc. Music is happening in Whistler all week long, some of last years arts included Nas, The Arkells, G-Love and Special Sauce, K-OS, Swollen Members, Beats Antique, Keller Williams, Kim Churchill

Most Interesting Party in Whistler – Silent Disco

How it goes down , choose from one of three DJ’s spinning,  plug your ear phones in, and dance the night away (earphones are supplied. Everyone will get a white t-shirt and glow marker for fun in the black lights. Must be of legal drinking age 10 pieces of ID required.

Season End Party

The ultimate season ending party, World Ski & Snowboard Festival makes sure the season ends with a bang. Featuring electrifying DJs, and sensory overloading sound and lighting systems, The END party is the one night you can’t afford to miss. This event has a minimum age of 19.

OLYMPUS 72 Hour Filmmaker Showdown

Relying purely on originality, craft, speed and endurance, the OLYMPUS 72 Hour Filmmaker Showdown distills the art of film-making into its purest form – taking creative vision from concept to reality in record time in order for it to be enjoyed on the big screen by an 1800-strong audience. Filmmakers are tasked to shoot, edit and produce a 3-5 minute short film within 100km radius of Whistler over the course of 72 hours.

2nd Cuts 72 Hour Filmmaker Screening

If you missed the 72 Hour Showdown, this is your chance to see all the action. A showing of all of the completed 72hr Filmmaker Showdown entrants, this is a don’t-miss event for friends, family, competitors, fans, and rivals.

Olympus Pro Photographer Showdown

The OLYMPUS Pro Photographer Showdown is a celebration of still images and of the commitment shown to build a body of work that captures time and captivates the human spirit. $16,000 in cash prizes have been allocated, cementing the World Ski and Snowboard Festival’s OLYMPUS Pro Photographer Showdown as the world’s preeminent action sports photography event.

Intersection sees action sport filmmaking pushed to its limits. Filmmakers have only seven days to shoot, edit and produce a 5-7 minute extreme sports short film. Sound easy? Think again – each film must feature both a skier and a snowboarder, there must be 30 seconds of park footage, 30 seconds of Whistler Blackcomb in-bound terrain, the film must be shot within 100km of Whistler and 75% of all footage must be on snow. See the final results of their efforts played on the big screen.

State of the Art

Open throughout the week, State of the Art is a showcase of creativity inspired by mountain culture. It’s a gallery with no rules, inspired by mountains towns and people. Sub-cultures and anti-movements are celebrated and portrayed in gritty and thought-provoking mediums. Local and international artists come from far and wide to create a collection of urban, street and snow art.

The Mountain Multiplicity Show

Presented by Mountain Life Magazine and The Spearhead Huts Committee. They say variety is the spice of life, and there are plenty of facets to mountains life to explore and celebrate. In this one-of-a-kind evening the greatest storytellers in the mountains gather to share their thoughts in photos, words and multimedia presentations. Its lifestyle and culture and art, all rolled into one.

A WSSF tradition, the show is free and on the Main Stage. A catwalk with a difference showing the leading brands that channel unique attitude that goes with streets, surf and snow. Featuring giveaways galore from all the top brands to help you strut your stuff this spring.

World Skiing Invitational / AFP World Championship

Slopestyle (Open)- Slopestyle is a hugely integrated and technically challenging discipline, featuring jumps, rails, and features to challenge and intimidate even the best skiers in the world. With Slopestyle skiing now included in the Winter Olympic Games, expect to see slope royalty come out to play. The WSI Slopestyle will be taking place in the Highest Level Park on Blackcomb. The line drops from above the gated entrance and uses the entire left side with a combo of huge jumps and mind-blowing features.
Big Air (Invitational)- The Big Air jump, located at the base of Whistler Mountain, is the ultimate in ski-voyeurism. Not for the faint of heart, this jump will shock, amaze and intimidate, and that’s just the spectators! Immerse yourself in the electric atmosphere of Skier’s Plaza, and watch the mind-boggling aerial talents of the who’s who of the ski world throw down in one of the most impressive displays of raw talent and gutsy trick-wrangling in an attempt to walk away with the coveted title of Big Air Champion and endless bragging rights.

The Shred Show presented by Monster Energy

Athletes and spectators alike will revel in the free flowing energy and progressive environment of this event. This Shred Show features various challenges including Slopestyle, Big Hip, Boarderstyle and Mogul Duel.

Big Air (Invitational, TR World Snowboard Tour 5-star event)

For 15 years, Saturday night during the WSSF has always been reserved for the biggest events, the biggest crowds and the most energy. On April 20th, capacity crowds will witness the world’s best snowboarders compete on a huge 70 foot table jump for $25,000 in prize money.

Vengeance in the Valley: Invitational Roller Derby Bout

See Whistler’s Black Diamond Betties and the Squamish Sea to Sky Sirens go head to head in this roller derby bout, where Sea to Sky Corridor town rivalry adds passion to the action. These ladies are mountain-trained and tough as nails. Don’t miss your chance to see a modern-day, high-adrenaline, fast-paced, high-action, full contact sport.

Whistler Dogfest

Every dog has it’s day, and Whistler Dogfest is the change for local mutts to strut their stuff. Whistler is a dog-friendly town and since 1998 Whistler dogs and their owners have turned out in droves to celebrate canines of all sizes. The Dog Parade features hundreds of hounds with stylish outfits and larger than life personalities, while dogs and owners alike will enjoy the exhibitions, agility demonstrations and competitions. Proceeds support Whistler Animals Galore (WAG), a Whistler-based animal shelter. DogFest is a kid-friendly, pet-friendly event.

Skiing and Riding

There’s no better time to ride Whistler Blackcomb, with spring skiing conditions and a festival atmosphere from the peaks to the patios. Take a few turns and watch some of the on mountain events, then ski down to Skier’s Plaza for a free afternoon concert to kick start your après session.

Demo Park

New gear? You deserve it. The Demo Park gives you the opportunity to snow-test the latest skis and snowboards for free and kick-start the decision process.
