Every week for 20 weeks during the summer, WORCA (Whistler Off-Road Cycling Association) hosts Thursday night Toonie Rides with the sponsorship of local businesses and organizations. Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome.
The rides cost $2 (Toonie) with half of the entry fee going into WORCA’s trail maintenance fund, and the other half into a pot for helping to support and fun the progression of Whistler’s top riders – usually locals who are training for the nationals or even the World Cup.
All participants must wear a helmet and ensure their bikes are in good working order and attendance includes the race, as well as food and a beer at the end.
Locations and trails vary each week. Take a look at the WORCA website for the full summer schedule: http://www.worca.com/toonie-ride-schedule/
