We love AirBnb Whistler but there are just some things the popular vacation rental service can’t offer. If you’re deciding where to stay during your Whistler vacation, here are some reasons why the Summit Lodge Whistler is the perfect place for you.
At the Summit Lodge, you’re never without a helping hand. Our professional front desk agents know Whistler inside-out and are ready 24 hours a day to accommodate your needs. If you have any questions about where to go or what to do, we’re here for you.
There’s always something going on in the lobby. Free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate is available 24 hours a day. In the afternoon you can stop by “Candy Corner” for a handful of goodies. And weekly surprise popups offer wine, beer, cocktails, and accompanying snacks during après hours.
Relax and refresh with our sauna, hot tub and pool (which is heated year-round). If you feel like being pampered, you can book a treatment at the Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa, our onsite authentic Javanese spa.
eightyone Cafe is a bright, relaxed environment to get work done or just hangout. Free WiFi, ample seating space, and everything you’d expect from a cafe. And the food is AMAZING!
Whatever the season, we’ve got you covered. Enjoy free bike rentals in the summer and free snowshoe rentals in the winter. Bike and ski/snowboard storage is always free, and you can get your gear tuned up at Underground tuning, located in the hotel entrance.
We know that pets are part of the family too and Whistler is a beautiful place to explore with your furry (or scaly, or feathered) friends. That’s why pets are always welcome at the Summit Lodge. If you’re bringing you pet, let us know ahead of time so we can leave some treats in your room!
Whistler can be pricey but we do our best to make your trip affordable. The earlier you book and the longer you stay, the bigger your discount will be. And if you’re a returning visitor, we apply an additional discount to your booking – just be sure to let us know when you call us at 1(888)-913-8811 🙂
The snowshoe adventures will run almost every Sunday (starting January 17th 2016, see events page for all tour dates) exclusively for Summit Lodge guests and include a guided tour with Sean (owner and lead guide at West Coast Wonders), transportation, and snowshoe rental.
The tours are small and intimate to give you the best experience. Places are limited to 6 people per tour so be sure to book early.
Out of courtesy to your guide we have a 48 hour cancelation policy, please see below.
[su_tabs][su_tab title=”Tour time:”]9am – 1pm.
Meet in the hotel lobby at 8.50am or 8.45am if you’re playing by credit card before the tour. [/su_tab] [su_tab title=”Cost:”]$49 (usually $105 + tax)[/su_tab] [su_tab title=”How to book:”]Book once you’re in Whistler: Stop by the front desk and let one of our agents know which tour date you’d like to attend and the number of places you’d like to reserve on the tour.
Book before you arrive: To book your place before you arrive in Whistler please email our front desk directly at email@example.com with the number of places you wish to reserve and which tour date you’d like to attend.
See all Whistler Snowshoe Adventure tour dates: summitlodge.com/event
All reserved places will be added as a note to your room booking and a 48 hour cancellation policy applies.
[/su_tab][su_tab title=”How to pay:”]Your guide, Sean, will be able to process payments of cash or credit. Please pay Sean on the day.
No-shows: We really appreciate West Coast Wonders offering these tours at this very special rate and we’d like to keep this wonderful experience for you and the rest of our guests. If you book a place and do not show up without giving 48 hours notice you will be charged full price for the tour on checkout.[/su_tab][su_tab title=”Level:”]All abilities are welcome (expect 2.5 hours of easy – moderate walking in deep snow).[/su_tab][su_tab title=”What to bring & wear:”]You’re going to be out in the snow for a few hours so ski gear is a good idea. Ski pants, ski jacket, layers (decide what layers to wear on the day, it’s best to look at valley temperatures on the morning of the tour), hiking/waterproof boots, and warm socks. Bring a backpack with water and snacks, as well as gloves, a hat, sunglasses, and a camera.
No denim. Snow sticks to denim and makes you cold, wet, and uncomfortable. [/su_tab][/su_tabs]
Founded by Sean Boyle in 2013, West Coast Wonders is local adventure guiding company forged from a love of the natural world and run with a passion to help people of all abilities experience the wild wonders of British Columbia.
We chose to partner with West Coast Wonders for our guest-only snowshoe tours because of their commitment to promoting and practicing leave-no-trace hiking and camping techniques. In 2015, West Coast Wonders were awarded the Green Tourism Award for their contribution to sustainable tourism in British Columbia.

Don’t pack away your skis and snowboards just yet.
Right as we we’re all starting to switch over our wardrobe, Whistler Blackcomb announced that Whistler Mountain will be staying open for skiing and snowboarding until June 7th, 2015!
We’re super excited about the extended season because, in Whistler, we love ‘multi-sport days’. Days where we can ski in the morning, visit the lake for lunch and then bike, hike or golf in the afternoon. Multi-sport days like these can only happen in the spring time and they’re usually over by mid-May. But not this year!
All guests can take advantage of our free 1 hour bike rental on our comfy (and stylishly retro) city bikes. The bikes are available any time on a first-come-first-served basis. The ladies bike also has a basket, perfect for a morning cycle to pick up fresh pastries and coffee.
Don’t worry about leaving your dog at home if you want to come and ski this month just, bring them with you.
Dogs always stay free with us, but if you stay before May 30th as part of our s-pet-tactualr getaway package your we’ll treat your four-legged friend to a 2 hour adventure walk in the valley with one of Whistler’s best dog walking companies. So you can enjoy the slopes knowing your pooch is off having a barking good time!
The s-pet-tacular getaway package starts at $275. This is a phone-in offer, so to book just call our awesome front desk staff, toll free, on: 1 (888) 913-8811 or (604)-932-2778

The Green Fever package starts at $255. This is a phone-in offer, so to book just call our awesome front desk staff, toll free, on: 1 (888) 913-8811 or (604)-932-2778
For many, spring and summer means vacation time…but when you have a dog in the family all of a sudden there is much more to consider than locations and baggage allowance. Do you put them in a kennel, get family or friends to watch them?
You have lots of ways to fill your life with entertainment but your dog only has you, so we “say bring them along, too!”.
We really want to make it easy for you and your dog to come and visit Whistler this spring, so we’ve created this special package designed just for travellers and their pups.
*Advance notice needed at time of booking, please
Plus all guests get: free high-speed wifi, complimentary deluxe hot chocolates in the evening, choice of 2 award-winning in-house restaurants, free guest shuttle, pool, hot tub and sauna.

Happy travels, friends!
To us Christmas is about the joy of sharing what you have with others, so this year we decided to run a slightly different Holiday contest: The Christmas GIFTaway! Instead of just having a regular old sweepstakes, here you’re gifting this prize to someone else (and hopefully if they win they’ll bring you too).
2 tickets to the (always sold out) Arc’teryx Deep Winter Photo Challenge
1 night stay for 2 people (sharing a room) at the Summit Lodge
1. Share a photo of what “deep winter” means to you both and tag the person who you want to win
3. Add both hashtags #XmasGIFTaway & #Whistler
4. Poke the person you tagged and get them to do the same for you
Whether it’s your best friend, spouse, brother, sister, dog sitter or neighbour you can share lots of photos and enter as many times as you like.
We don’t like it when things get complicated so there’s only one rule: you cannot nominate yourself.
Legal stuff: Winner will be chosen at random and notified on Dec 24th at 6pm PT, via the social media channel on which they entered. Reserve the right to cancel or change the contest at anytime and without notice.
Good luck and happy gifting!
